BS 8621

The BS 8621 standard is a similar application as the BS 3621 the only difference being is the '8621' can be operated internally without the use of a key where there is a requirement for means of escape (from fire) while maintaining security from the outside.

Locks which comply to BS 8621 should be fitted on all 1st floor and above properties to ensure a swift exit in an emergency situation where other means of escape may not be possible.BS8621 DeadlockBS8621 Nightlatch
