Is it true that some locks are more suited to different types of doors and windows?

Yes, locks are designed to fit certain materials and applications. For example, wooden doors have different locks to UPVC doors. The same is true of windows, and types of windows. It is important to make sure you have the right locks fitted to ensure that the door or window is secure, and that the lock actually works.
